Free First Fridays at the Norton Simon Musem

Apparently they have a lot of Degas at this museum in Pasadena. I plan to see for myself on the next First Friday, which happens to be on August 7.
Admission to the museum is free every first Friday of the month, from 6-9pm, with a special tour starting at 7pm. Student admission is always free, which is lucky if you still look the same as you did on your first day of college. (And if you do, bless your heart and tell me how you do it.)

LACMA Muse Artwalk
I'm bummed to miss this, but Saturday is moving day for me...
ArtWalk 2009
Saturday, May 30 | 12-8 pm
Miracle Mile
Four free museums
Twenty participating galleries
Official Website
Looks pretty awesome. And if you're super broke, there is a 99 Cent Store just west of Wilshire & Fairfax - I scored PBR Light there once.
Hold the phone - you won't have to hit up 99 Cent, unless you want to. The following galleries have happy hour starting at 4pm: David DeSanctis Gallery, Steve Turner Contemporary, Perrell Fine Art, Lawrence Asher Gallery, Jack Rutberg Gallery, DNJ Gallery. Happy hour sponsored by Grolsch, Malibu Family Wines, and Pernod.
Hmm...maybe I'll take a break from moving...

The Getty
The Getty is free. That's cool. Both the Getty Center and the Getty Villa in Malibu are free but parking is $8. Not sure if you can get there by bus.
